Kitchen Notes
Baking tools.
The baking tools that show up on every Saturday morning. Half-sheet pans, a kitchen scale, a bench scraper, a digital thermometer, a rolling pin, a fine-mesh sieve for sifting. None of these are exotic. All of them quietly upgrade what comes out of the oven. The picks lean toward the budget end because baking tools rarely need to be expensive: a 12-dollar bench scraper outperforms a 38-dollar one in every way that matters. The ones worth spending on (the scale, the thermometer) are flagged. Here is the short list.
